Thirsty Girl Films is an award-winning collective of passionate independent filmmakers and storytellers. We specialize in everything from cultural documentaries to high-concept narratives to stop motion animation. We take pride in our ingenuity and resourcefulness to get the job done right, without a spending a fortune. Through powerful imagery and experimental techniques, we strive to awaken the wonder and curiosity that hides within all of us, while pushing the boundaries in the art of storytelling. We are dedicated to bringing together talented individuals of diverse backgrounds that share the common goal of creating quality entertainment outside the studio system. We believe that where there is a camera, there is way to inspire.

Making waves in the indie scene, Thirsty Girl Films has been featured on prestigious websites like IndieWIRE, Film Courage, Indiegogo, Film Radar, Take Part, and Kidult. Thirsty Girl Films recently completed their second successful crowd-funding campaign to help finish their documentary, Gwapa ‘Beautiful, which also won IndieWIRE’s “Project of the Month” contest in December 2011, winning a consultation with the Sundance Institute and SnagFilms. Currently in post-production, Gwapa (Beautiful) is the first feature length documentary dedicated to bringing awareness to the high number of children born with cleft deformities in the Philippines and the great need for free reconstructive surgeries in poor countries. The experience making the film was so powerful that it spawned the creation of the Gwapa Project, 501c3 its infancy dedicated to providing high quality media content for non profits around the globe.

Thirsty Girl’s newest short film, “Bizarre” is a unique and rare look at the lives of performers, instructors, and big top lovers working to keep the circus arts alive and thriving in our modern age. Shooting on the RED Epic and Phantom Flex. On location at Circus Center in San Francisco, CA. April - June 2013. 

Thirsty Girl's short period thriller, "Feast of the Foolish", was an Official Selection of 2012 HollyShorts Film Festival; it won Best Short Thriller at the 2012 FirstGlance Film Festival in Hollywood; and it was nominated for Best Short Film at 2012 Female Eye Film Festival, among others. "Feast of the Foolish" was shot on the RED One camera in Joshua Tree, CA.

Thirsty Girl’s short stop motion, “A Lost Love Story”, won the 2010 Filmmaker of the Year award from RAW: Natural Born Artists, 2nd Place and Best Editing at 2011 Los Angeles ArtHouse Film Festival, Honorable Mention in Animation from 2011 Los Angeles Independent Underground Film Festival, and Merit Award for Animation at the 2011 Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood.
